Job Description:

The Tech Op s SCM Data Analytics Analyst invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting data analytics for various Tech Ops Analytics Teams in order to drive the development of strategic initiatives, track accountability, and identify areas of improvement . This Analyst will translate complex data into valuable insights and dashboards for teams in Strategic Sourcing, Surplus, and PMA . The Tech Ops SCM Data Analytics Analyst is a self-start er who i s data-driven and excited to join a dynamic team that helps improve both internal and external Customer performance and compliance.

Additional details:
This role is offered as a regional workplace position and Employees must work in the region they support. This could require working from a mix of on-site Company facilities and remote based offices to perform the job function in a regional location determined by business need. Each Department will provide Employees with guidance on when and where presence is required with as much notice as reasonably possible .

Please note, while this is a regional position, there is limited group of states or localities ineligible for Employees to regularly perform their work off-site. Those ineligible locations are: Alaska, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.

Responsibilities

Drives moderately complex self-service data integration projects that bring together data from disparate sources in order to make it available to business Customers such as data scientists, analysts, and analytic users

Applies advanced data integration methods to massive data sets in order to create solutions which can be utilized in descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics

Interacts with functional leaders across multiple and concurrent projects

Formulates and communicates solutions and options for moderately complex problems

Supports the ongoing effectiveness of data assets in use by business Customers in self-service environments

Supports the ongoing development of the Southwest Airlines Tech Ops Analytics Community

Conducts cost-benefit analysis of purchase and service agreements and identify applicable penalties associated to support cost-savings

Calculates and tracks results of operational efforts (Savings, Cost avoidance, etc ) against established metrics and ensure compliance to complex contractual terms and conditions

Translates analytics into actionable content to enable timely and relevant decision-making through development of reporting and dashboards using analytical tools such as Alteryx and Tableau

Collaborates with other Departments and work groups to understand requirements and gain efficiencies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Data Engineering and Computer Science Skills

Proficient in acquiring data in both relational and noSQL databases

Proficient in integrating, storing, and processing data in a self-service environment

Intermediate Analytic Skills

Skilled in both inductive and deductive reasoning and problem solving approaches

Knowledge of data analytics methodologies and tools

Familiarity with test and control methodologies and experimental design

Consulting and communications

Proficient in problem solving, critical thinking, and project management skills

Proficient in driving moderately complex data integration projects including participating in business stakeholder meetings, solution definition and planning, detailed task and deliverable definition and creation, and project schedule creation

Proficient in developing plans for data integration projects

Proficient in building trust with all levels of Employees up to and including functional leaders, including ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information

Proficient in communicating in an engaging way with strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences up to and including functional leaders

Ability to adjust well to a variety of situations and change approaches/methodology if necessary in order to effectively and successfully meet objectives

Ability to adapt to new approaches and methodologies prescribed by leadership/management

Capacity and independence

Proficient in engaging in and leading multiple projects simultaneously

Able to perform job duties with minimal supervision

Comfortable with ambiguity and achieve productivity in unstructured environments through thoughtful question-asking, self-structuring, creative ingenuity, and self-management
Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Required: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience

Business intelligence tools such as Business Objects,

Intermediate level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:

Building complex models using multiple data sources to calculate total cost of ownership, strategic KPIs, inventory, and order management

Advanced data integration

Business intelligence tools such as Business Objects, Tableau, Alteryx, Quickbase , Power Automate, or other AWS tools

Data programming languages and open source tools

Technology platforms and architectures applicable to developing and maintaining self-service data assets

Functional level experience with various technologies (e.g. SAP ERP/VIM, Maintenix, Aeroxchange, and other similar applications)

Preferred: Experience with project management and tracking project lifecycles

Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities

Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.

Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be able to work extended hours, as determined by Leader and project needs

Pay &amp Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $76,500.00 per year to $85,000.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience**. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
