Estimated Appointment End Date (Continuous if Blank) Full/Part-Time Full time Job Type Regular Compensation Job Description Job Title: Technology Assistant Location: District 21 Status: Full-Time, Immediate Opening Closing: Open Until Filled Salary: $40,000.00 – $45,000.00 Position Summary: The Technology Assistant will aid the Director of Information Technology in maintaining computer equipment on the local network as well as various pieces of equipment in the courtrooms. The Technology Assistant will also focus on managing the digital evidence that our office receives from law enforcement agencies. The digital evidence will need to be extracted from the compressed file format in which we receive it and then organized into an easy-to-use format. Job Description:
  • Manage and maintain digital evidence as it is received from law enforcement or as it is collected from the district 21 Task Force. This includes downloading the evidence or transporting the evidence to the attorneys.
  • Help monitor server storage and assist in hardware, software, or network issues as they occur within the office.
  • Coordinate with the county for courtroom-related matters including technology and Wi-Fi in the courtrooms.
  • Manage and maintain wireless HDMI extender equipment used in the courtrooms for trials.
Knowledge And Skills:
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with basic audio/video equipment.
  • Understanding of extracting compressed digital files and managing file/folder structure so others can easily use it.
  • Flexibility with learning new systems and assisting others in those systems.
  • Willingness to assist the office and the Director of Information Technology with other various projects.
