DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Security Officer 1, you provide enforcement of Department of Human Services and Danville State Hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations to safeguard the hospital and its property against fire, theft, and vandalism. In addition, you maintain order among consumers, employees, and visitors. Additional duties include patrolling hospital grounds by vehicle or foot completing checks of all areas providing access control and interior/exterior checks, traffic and parking control, performing investigations and completing reports, and conducting searches of patients, visitors, and employees, as well as property searches.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are (1) position on 1st shift (8:00am – 4:00pm) and (2) positions on 2nd shift (4pm to midnight) (2) 15-minute breaks – Works every other weekend.
    • May change based on operational need

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING &amp ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • No previous experience or training required.

Special Requirement:
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operators license.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
