Job Description: Job Summary

The Revenue Protection Analyst delivers on our Purpose by analyzing airline ticketing, payment &amp settlement, refunds , and customer funds transactions for trends or activity that may indicate fraud or misuse of customer payments and accounts. This role pa rtners with our Team and internal Customers to collaborate on projects, risks, and areas of continuous improvement. The Revenue Protection Analyst is a detail-orientated thinker, who looks forward to the opportunity to be part of impactful initiatives and drive the future of Southwest .

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week.?The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities
Analyze financial, banking, ticketing, and customer payment data and review activity for unexpected trends or results that might indicate fraud or misuse customer funds
Research unexpected trends or results to identify root cause, identify the need to take action, and report findings and conclusions to Department Leadership
Prepare standard and ad Hoc department performance reports (i.e., metrics, activity by Employee, activity by Customer, trend analysis), and provide commentary on results
Resolve issues and questions received from internal and external customers in a timely manner, ensuring deliverables meet customer expectations and requirements
Provide an impact analysis and actionable reporting to Department Leadership when fraud, customer dispute, system or other customer issues occur
Validate and document test cases in support of system upgrades, production defect fixes and projects impacting the Department
Build relationship with third party vendors to ensure needed financial and operational data is sent and received timely and is complete and accurate
Recommend and initiate opportunities to streamline work and to build checks and balances into work processes
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Company and regulatory ticketing, refund, and banking policies considered when performing analyses, responding to inquiries and when participating on projects
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, internal controls and SOX compliance, industry trends, customer payments and refunds policies, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
Knowledge of software systems and tools, including database tools, used in performance of day-to-day functional duties
Skilled in asking insightful questions and listening to understand all perspectives with a solid understanding of Business impacts
Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing and assimilating data from multiple sources, including turning raw data into meaningful information using ad hoc reporting tools, data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in a concise and compelling story-line using multiple forms of communication, tailoring tone, style and content to the intended audience
Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:

Accounting, Finance, Business, or Management Information Systems

Data collection and analysis

Financial and business risks and impacts

Payment fraud trends

Financial services and systems

Airline ticketing, payment &amp settlements, refunds, customer funds, fraud risk

Preferred: Experience in database skills and development (equivalent to MS Access)

Preferred: Experience in Altreyx , MS Excel, Quickbase , and Accertify

Preferred: Experience in Amadeus, Cirrus, SWABank , Smartclilxx , Refundpro , Sirax , and C360

Preferred: Knowledge of programming

Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities

Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time

Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information

Must have the flexibility to work extended hours, including occasional weekends, and Company holidays

Pay &amp Benefits
Competitive market salary from $69,400 to $77,100 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
