Purchasing Assistant

Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Purchasing Assistant is responsible for placing orders for products and services needed by the business. The Purchasing Assistant will conduct administrative and support roles to keep the department running efficiently. Purchasing Assistant is required to maintain purchase records, and conduct research with the goal to maintain costs and profitability for the business.
Responsibilities:
- Generate purchase orders from approved purchase requisitions
- Submit purchase requisitions as needed
- Work with outside vendors to confirm purchase orders, and make sure they are in a ready state for the receivers.
- Change prices and quantities as necessary to match vendor pricing and availability
- Analyze the open purchase order report
- Address any critical part back orders with purchasing manager
- Focus on process improvement and efficiency gains through standardization and automation
- Assist the purchasing manager by requesting new material numbers from material master when needed
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Analytical, critical thinking, problem solving
- Proficient using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

- Base salary range: $22.75/hr

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role.
