Job Description : Position Purpose The Program Coordinator provides high level, dynamic administrative support to Dickey Center program areas, with a focus on new initiatives, global health and development, and communications. This position assists in the smooth and professional staging of student, faculty and public events, both in person and virtual, ranging from individual talks to larger-scale workshops and conferences. This role includes working on communications, logistics, maintaining records, and handling financial transactions. The Program Coordinator works closely with program leads across the Center. Models the Center’s commitment to being a welcoming and inclusive community for all interested in global engagement and international understanding.

Required Qualifications – Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • At least two years of office experience.
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in a changing, fast-paced work environment with the ability to set and reset priorities.
  • Interest in international affairs and global issues.
  • High level of initiative, exceptional organizational and planning skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage logistical and administrative details of multiple tasks or projects.
  • Proficiency or the ability to become proficient with the Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook knowledge of Dartmouth financial &amp accounting software (OnBase, iExpense) and procedures.
  • Sound judgment, and ability to work independently, and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent communication &amp interpersonal skills with customer service focus with an ability to effectively collaborate and interact with all levels of the Dartmouth community.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Four or more years of office experience in administrative or office management, with an ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Proven experience in event coordination involving in-person, virtual, and hybrid platforms.
  • Familiarity with working with a college-aged population.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Interest in international affairs and/or cross-cultural understanding or international experience.
  • Experience in a higher education setting.

Additional Instructions
Key Accountabilities Description Director’s Special Projects and New Initiatives-
  • Works with Dickey Center Director to support special projects, conducts research, and assists in the development of speaker series that highlight Great Issues and campus-based efforts to address key multidisciplinary challenges.
  • Provides administrative support for new programs and initiatives including support to the new Middle East Policy Initiative and the Dissent and Democracy Initiative.
  • Handles confidential, sensitive information, exercise excellent professional judgment and discretion, and interacts appropriately with Dartmouth constituencies including, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members.
  • Coordinates logistics for visitors, managing travel, and compiling event materials. Assists in the staging and onsite management of events, occasionally working evenings during academic terms and weekends as needed.

Description Program support – Global Health and Development
  • Provides administrative support to the Global Health and Development Pillar.
  • Participates in meetings, training programs, and events.
  • Assists in the accurate, timely, and comprehensive processing of financial transactions, reconciling purchasing charges, vendor and honorarium payments, and financial reporting.

Description Program Support (Communications)-
  • Works with the Communications Manager in support of communications and outreach. Advises on outreach and social media, supports the Dickey communications goals.
  • Assists with Dickey Center publicity through the creation of social media posts, printed materials, and other media.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the Dickey webpages.

Description Operations-
  • Helps to creates a welcoming environment and friendly reception for all coming to the Dickey Center, deploying a comprehensive knowledge of Center programs and resources to assist and direct community members and visitors to the Center.
