Position Summary

The LAN Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the computer systems and networks of the company, fulfilling all operational and compliance requirements to a high degree of availability. The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrable knowledge and aptitude with a wide range of technologies, desktop and user support, server and network administration, and web design.


Essential Functions of the Position

  • Ensure Thunderbird quality customer service and cheerful atmosphere maintained in your department
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of department at all times
  • Make good and proper decisions that reflect positively on you and the Casino
  • Maintain proper compliance at all times
  • All aspects of systems design, implementation, and administration, troubleshooting and optimization, including but not limited to managing servers, applications, routers, switches, firewalls, and databases
  • Coordinate the development and production activities of the Information Technology Department with I.T. team and other departments
  • Manage vendor, support and other infrastructure service suppliers to ensure cost effective use of budgets and efficient delivery processes
  • Perform systems security administration functions including creating user profiles and managing user groups, permissions, file shares, ACLs
  • Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, bandwidth usage, and checks on system response times to maintain operating efficiency
  • Maintain system documentation logs
  • Perform or assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing problems and correct them when identified
  • Maintain application security, providing monitoring and response or intervention for incidents, violations, event investigations, and compliance enforcement
  • Review personnel conduct in relation to data security and protection
  • Keep current with new information technology security protocols
  • Maintain and improve disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
  • Become proficient in software applications from an operations and systems perspective
  • The recovery of all system services in the event of a disaster
  • Provide input and recommendations with regard to system capacity, equipment acquisitions and overall I.S / I.T. strategy
  • Maintain the company internal and external website(s) at the direction of the Marketing and H.R. departments
  • Mentor, train, and support all other I.T. staff members in execution of their duties
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times
  • Any other duties as assigned or requested by management


Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Possess good interpersonal skills including positive conflict management skills. Must have exceptional customer service skills, leadership skills, ability to relate well with others, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret and respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
  • Must pass Federal/State Background Investigation and be licensed by the Absentee Shawnee Gaming Commission. Provide proof of education received or transcripts, if applicable. Must be able to pass mandatory drug screens and provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.

Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to intense depending on the area of the casino or event center.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer or Networking Science or 4 years of demonstrated experience managing a complex systems/ server infrastructure, or a combination thereof.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and obtain a key gaming license.
