    One full-time Custodian to work 8hrs per day, from 2:30pm-11:00pm, Monday through Friday on a 262 day calendar. Responsible for custodial services in a high school—lead or assistant.

    Coordination Functions :
    • Coordinates and trains custodians in the cleaning tasks needed to maintain the school in proper operating condition according to Worthington and OSHA guidelines
    • Coordinates and organizes the cleaning of the school
    • Maintains attendance records, time sheets, absence forms, and vacation schedules for the custodial staff
    • Requisitions cleaning materials and equipment
    • Monitors custodial work accomplished
    • Monitors custodial attendance, arrivals and departures from work including breaks and lunchtime
    • Meets with principal or designee to discuss the operation of the grounds and building
    • Acts as a liaison between the public and school personnel
    Custodial Functions :
    • Opens building each morning and inspects it to assure that it is in the proper physical condition
    • Dust mops, damp mops, wet mops, scrubs, waxes and buffs floors and hallways
    • Washes walls and windows and sanitizes bathroom and fountain fixtures
    • Lifts heavy items, i.e., garbage cans, mop buckets and ringers, containers of wax and chemicals, boxes, cleaning equipment, and paper products
    • Vacuums carpeted floors
    • Climbs ladders and adjusts ladders to replace lightbulbs and to clean light fixtures
    • Empties trash receptacles
    • Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies
    • Sweeps and shovels snow and de-ices steps and entrance ways
    • Performs minor building maintenance tasks and repairs
    • Sets up for meetings and after-school activities
    • Maintains the outdoor area surrounding the building

    Job Skills &amp Abilities:
    • Considerable knowledge of the methods, cleaning solutions, and equipment used in custodial work
    • General knowledge of heating and cooling equipment operation and maintenance
    • General knowledge of work safety
    • Knowledge of mechanical and safety shut-offs
    • Knowledge of the proper use of fire extinguishers
    • Ability to perform heavy physical labor (for example: lifts heavy objects, bend, twist, climb ladders, lift arms above head, etc.)
    • Ability to coordinate a custodial work force
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other custodians, staff, supervisors, students, and the general public
    • Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position

    Salary Range $22.06/hr to $28.00/hr.
