Examples of Duties

  • Directly support the implementation of the City’s ERP technology solution and other existing City software by creating and writing reports using a variety of methods including but not limited to SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), PowerBI, and other tools.
  • Partner with city stakeholders to determine reporting requirements and make recommendations based on priority, level of effort, sustainability, and best fit for the need.
  • Work on a team of ERP System Administrators and Database Administrators to provide long-term support and effective reporting solutions to meet the City’s evolving data needs.
  • Prepare data for conversion from various legacy systems/data sources for import into new systems/databases.
  • Write clear process documentation, instructions, and other written resources to assist end-users, teammates, and otherwise provide sustainable support for all reporting solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:


  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information technology, or a related field AND
  • Five (5) years of responsible database systems experience or related experience.
  • Microsoft SQL and report writing required.

Supplemental Information

Union Representation: This position is not represented by a union.

Schedule: 40 hours per week. Tigard is a progressive employer with a 4-day work (Monday-Thursday) week. There is an opportunity for remote work up to 50% of the time .

Compensation: The hourly range for this eligible over-time position is $41.20-$53.87. The starting pay assignment, based on an analysis of the successful candidate’s related experience and education in accordance with the city’s pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $$48.48 hourly allowing room for future increases to the pay ceiling.

Classification Notes:


Physical Demands

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer to operate a motor vehicle and to visit various City and meeting sites vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Environmental Elements
Employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
