Come join the Dallas County Area Office as a Construction Recordkeeper! This unique opportunity allows our candidate to work with a team that ensures the accuracy of our contractor payments, monthly estimates, and other required reporting tools. The ideal candidate is team player, with attention to detail, who enjoys working with others. The ability to perform high school level algebra is required. Previous construction experience, site manager knowledge, and previous record keeping experience preferred.

Position Description

Maintains construction project records and processes related paperwork reviews and modifies contract documents to reflect changes to original agreement monitors records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determines payments due contractor for work completed. Work requires contact with contractors.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
  • May attend pre-construction meetings to instruct contractors bookkeeper on record-keeping procedures.
  • Monitors contractors compliance with federal requirements related to Equal Employment Opportunity and wages
  • Monitors on-the-job training program and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and Small Business Enterprise programs
    submits required monthly reports.
  • Prepares and submits monthly and final estimates checks calculations against work log and estimate form to verify work
    is completed before payment is made.
  • Prepares and types correspondence, reports and supporting documents files, orders supplies and equipment.
  • Processes change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.
  • Sets up field record books for each construction project within assigned area.

Minimum Qualifications:

Construction Recordkeeper I:

Education : High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.

Experience : None

Construction Recordkeeper II:

Education : High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.

Experience : 1 Year Record-keeping, bookkeeping, or other related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent)

Construction Recordkeeper III:

Education : High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.

Experience : 2 Years Record-keeping, bookkeeping, or other related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent)

Licenses and Certifications :

  • Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform high school level algebra, experience with Site manager, and previous construction experienc e

Competencies:

  • Standard procedures relative to planning, construction and engineering fundamentals
  • Performing calculations using algebra, trigonometry and geometry

  • Communicating technical information effectively
  • Using computers and applicable programs, applications, and systems
  • Reviewing plans for accuracy and ensuring compliance with requirements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary work: Lift up to 10lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
  • Light work: Lift up to 20lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10lbs
  • Standing-prolonged periods of time
  • Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures view a computer screen extensive reading
