Department: Nursing Administration – Nursing Office Shift: Afternoons Daily Work Times: 11:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 80 Pay Range: $18.99 – $26.59 Position Summary: Provides administrative services and support for the nursing management staff. Provides confidential assistance to management in the effectuation of labor relations and management policies. Assists in the time keeping function and day-to-day processes of the nursing office. Answers and screens phone calls, assists with staffing, schedules meetings, prepares PC generated reports, handles mail, and maintains organization within Nursing Services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Performs reception tasks including phone communication and personal contacts in courteous, efficient, effective manner representing the department in a positive manner. Records messages accurately and completely. Opens mail daily, distributes appropriately, prioritized and flags for action as indicated. Prepares, types, ensures signature, files and mails correspondence in accepted formats and targeted time frames.
- Prepares agendas, composes minutes, types, copies and distributes. Schedules meetings, arranges rooms and performs related duties as requested.
- Maintains appropriate databases, prepares reports, files information and ensures retrieval of historical reference files.
- Ensures that supplies are stocked appropriately.
- Maintains, utilizes and upgrades computer hardware and software to ensure effective and efficient use of these resources.
- High school diploma
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word with 50 wpm minimum typing skill
- English usage and composition skills
- Working knowledge of Kronos, ANSOS, Excel and Access database
